Traditional Protestant Episcopal Church

Discipline

While doctrine is critical to any denomination, discipline (or government) also plays an integral role in defining the church. In addition to maintaining the three-fold ministry of Scripture (deacon, priest/elder, and bishop), the TPEC--like its Anglican forebears--holds firmly to the Thirty-Nine Articles of Religion. Like its American parent, the Protestant Episcopal Church in the USA, the TPEC also keeps to the church's Constitution and Canons (c. 1958). Our government and guiding principles reflect our beliefs about God, humanity and Scripture, and an essential part of being traditional Churchmen is adhering to this historic discipline.

In an age when it seems vogue to abandon historic principles of discipline, this Church humbly defends the Articles and the Constitution and Canons, and we operate according to their content. Please pause and sift through the Articles and Canons for a look at our guideposts.
